通过这次申请，个人感觉，每个学校都有不同的喜好。

我的感觉: 一般的申请者很难在这几个方面都很优秀,关键是找出自己的闪光点，然后在申请资料中强化这些优势.

GPA是硬道理，推荐信可以锦上添花，GMAT是保证

GMAT成绩在初选阶段重要，托福就更是这样了；

GPA不可过分强调，前提得是他们认可的学校；最好不低于3.5

学术成果、工作经验重要但不是必须；

课外活动基本不重要

专业背景貌似很重要，但国内的三教九流专业学到的东西也差不到哪里去，特别是现在选课更加自由了

if i pick up students, i will take those who are intersted in my research, and more importantly, working on things similar to mine. i think scores are only threshold. Once you pass them, your research potential matters more.

那么就是说，没有学术成果的大学本科生也可以申请？对教授的研究方向感兴趣是更为重要的。

Agree with buckeyeTD. Research potential is the most important issue. You interest indicates your committment, while your background (quantitative training, working experience, research experience, etc.) will determine how well you can do in this field. GPA and GMAT are good benchmark of your acedemic ability.
