1. casual是“偶然的，不可靠的“的意思，不是causal'原因的'意思吧。2.to render permanent a casual mode of poetic phrasing that Dickinson surely never expected to see in print. 包含了一个倒装，render sth. + adj.---->  render + adj. sth.所以我觉得这个句子是不是翻译成“使一种....不可靠的模式成为永恒”

It implies that Dickinson chose the dash as her typical mark of punctuation when, in fact, she apparently never made any definitive choice at all.      ------Dickinson也使用了dash,但是它的dash是没有特定的含义的；而Johnson使用dash是标准化了Dickinson的dash含义,所以曲解Dickinson的一些intentions-----不知道是不是这个意思，我开始就是没能理解到底谁在使用dash, 第二句是Johnson, 最后一句是Dickinson.

偶第一遍读，都不知道到底在说J得dash,还是D得dash.....

现在想想，是不是D在诗里用了dash,于是J就把所有不可辨认的标点一律用dash代替,

所以有casual mode-->permanent?
