我今年向申请MIT，有人说他喜欢工科的学生，我本科学国贸，研究生学经济，是否可以一试？

我是复旦毕业的，MIT跟复旦合办了个MBA,是否对复旦毕业生有所偏好？

I think you should stop speculating the amount of "advantage" and "disadvantage" that you've got and just do your best on the application.  The so called advantages are impossible to assess, definitely not something they'd admit publically, even if it's true.  Of course they'd want students from good schools and people who stand out among their peers.  You never know until you've tried.  Good luck!
