答案是A), 可是: 原文结论是: 如果外国语言的BASIC WORDS FOR COLOR比英语少, 表明说外国语言的人不能识别更多的颜色. 但是A)是说: RUSSIAN用2个BASIC WORDS来表达英文中的一个颜色单词BLUE的不同深浅. 不能说是UNDERMINE吧. 除非他说: 英语用2个单词, 而RUSSIAN用一个单词.

A undermines. The question asks for the answer that undermines the conclusion concerning words for color. The reasoning in the question is that people with fewer basic words for color are unable to distinguish the colors as people with more basic words.

I do not thtink the question asks for an answer that undermines the whole conclusion that "Speakers of languages that have fewer basic words for colors than English has must be perceptually unable to distinguish as many colors as speakers of English can distinguish".
