Lebsock,meanwhile,attempts （main verb）not only to （平行结构）write the history of women in one southern community,but also to （平行结构）redirect two decades of historiographical debate as to （修饰redirect表示redirect的目的）whether women gained or lost status in the nineteenth century as compared with the eighteenth century（修饰whether这个句子，说的是和18世纪的女性比起来19世纪的女性地位上升了还是下降了）

红色标出的地方是主要的主谓宾，not only but also也是对比的平行结构。
“leb这个人不仅仅尝试去写一个xxx的历史，还尝试去转变一个xxx的争论。”
这里redirect是什么意思？转变
后半句里as....as....是个词组吗？不是，第一个as to表示“关于xxx”，固定短语；第二个as compared with是表示对比，对比18世纪和19世纪女性的地位上升还是下降了。
redirect是和第一个as后面的to连用的吗？redirect是和第一个as to 连用的。

谢谢解答！那第二个句子里B's biography of MF 的意思是“B 的自传，自传的名字叫做MF”吗？B and B's biography 不是复合主语吗？为什么谓语是单数？
