a Knight is the only piece on the board, what is the
greatest number of spaces from which not all 8
moves are possible?

一共8X8，64个格子，当前格往右移动一个格子，可以像图中一样走8步，往下就不行了，同理，能走八部的格子集中在最中心的4X4，16格子里，其他至少一边靠墙角，不能如图走八步。最大就是64-16=48
