gmat score system

it is well known that gmat score system is complex, as paper test, and hard to calculate.

But anyone can confirm or have any clue that if someone answers less than 3 in math and 10 in verbal wrongly, is it possible for he/she to get 700+ finally?

thanks a lot

sorry, what do you mean by inveriety?

what i mean is, the final score is not only decided by the answers you got wrong. it also has something to do with the position you got your answers wrong, and the average pace of the answering process.

therefore, it is possible to get above 700 with the infomation you provided, but as further details are lacking, there's no guarantee

THANKS.GOT IT. 'INVERIETY' IS A TYPO, NEVER MIND.

I SEARCHED 'COMPUTER ADAPTIVE TEST SCRORING SYSTME' IN FAQ, UNFORTUNATELY, THE CONTENT DOESNOT MATCH THAT LINK.

ACCORDING TO WHAT YOU SAID, MAY I UNDERSTAND LIKE THAT:

if 3-5 wrong answers in first 20 and 7-5 wrong answers in last 21 items, he/she is likely to get 700+?

critical question: what is the maximum wrong answers we can have if we want to get at least 700? (suppose less wrong answers in first 20 than those in last 21 items)

[please at least offer your estimation. Could be 12, or even 15?]

thank you very very much!

P.S. what do you mean 'the average pace of the answering process'? Does that matter?!

futhermore, i am confused by the paper test system:

even you get wrong 10 out of 56 in verbal and 3 out of 52 in match, you may get 700-!

it is interesting...

ETS has never publicized its way of scoring. So all I said is based on experience of past test takers. Therefore, there's no accurate answer to your question "what is the maximum wrong answers we can have if we want to get at least 700? (suppose less wrong answers in first 20 than those in last 21 items)"

A definite thing is, you must try to get as many questions right as possible in the first 10. This rule also applies to 10-20, but less strictly.

The pace is very important. Go through recent discussions on the board, you'll find some clue.

To know how much you are probably to score, you'd better do a mock test on Prep. Nobody else could give you an accurate answer.
