P: Your hypothesis is laughabal! what would have been the points of such a person "s writing Homeric epics down? Surely a person who knew them well enough to write them down would not need to read them and no one else could read them zccording to your hypothesis.

对于M与P 的各自的意思我都理解可就是不懂P 的说话与M 的有何联系，好象两者根本无关，我楞没搞清ALPHABET , homeric epics, oral poetry 之间到底是什么关系可能还是对意思理解不透，请帮我解释一下，多谢！

先将就着讲两句，等一回儿大牛就来了~
M认为如果具备knew the Phoenician writing system 和wanted to have some way of recording Homeric epics的条件，就能够达到 developed tradition of oral poetry 的目的
P反驳说，如果writing的能力存在，那读的人根本就不会去注意 tradition of oral poetry，所以说M的hypothesis是不可取的
ALPHABET , homeric epics, oral poetry 均属于细节，没有必要太过注意

P的意思是希腊字母一定是某些人创造的，而这些人一定是熟悉非尼基人的书写方式并且希望用它来记录荷马时代的史诗，因此上保留了一个高度发展的口头诗歌的表达方式。

M的意思是人们如此记录下荷马史诗用意何在呢？很了解它的人用这种方式写下，他自然不用再读，而他的特殊记录方式又使别人看不明白。

他们的对立就在于对希腊字母的起源理解有分歧，M反驳了P的假设。
