120. Codex Berinesis, a Florentine copy of an ancient Roman medical treatise, is undated but contains clues to when it was produced. its first 80 pages are by a single copyist, but the reamaining 20 pages are by three different copyists, which indicates some significant distruption. Since a letter in handwriting identified as that of the fourth copyist mentions a plague that killed many people in FLorence in 1148, Codex Berinensis was probably produced in that year.

Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the hypothesis that Codex Berinensis was produced in 1148?

Answer: (D) There was only one outbreak of plague in Florence in the 1100s.

想请问大家这题目是什么意思？为什么1148年有瘟疫，这个论文就是在那一年写的。作为第四个copyist他既然活下来了，他在1148年后，哪一年写不是都可以吗？瘟疫和他完成这个论文的时间有什么关系？

实在读不懂这题是什么逻辑，快哭了！求助。

和你有同样的疑问，只要第四个copyist在1148年后是活的，他就可以提及1148年的瘟疫。
是不是题目说最支持的选项，毕竟此选项，排出了此cop不是在1148年前写的。。？？

有这么一本叫Codex Berinesis的东西，是a Florentine copy of an ancient Roman medical treatise。是一个医学论文，文中没有说明书写的日期，但是有一些线索指明他是什么时候写的。他前面80页都是同一个人写的，但是后面的20页是3个不同的人写得。说明在这段时间内发生了重大的变故。在第四个人的手写书信中点出了有一场在1148年的瘟疫杀害了很多人。所以作者就猜测 Codex Berinensis 是在那一年写的。

作者的逻辑是：论文在写的过程中发生了很大的变故+1148年发生了很大的变故 --> 论文是在1148年的写的。

但是也有可能在第四个人生活的这段时间里发生了很多的瘟疫，他只是没有提。比如可以1148年可以有一次，然后1158年也可以有。那么哪一次是论文写作的时间就不知道了

加强选项就是排除了这种可能性，说在1100年代（也就是第四个写作人生活的年代），这个人他写了这个论文，他在只有在1148年经历过瘟疫，而论文在被撰写期间也有过瘟疫发生的可能性。所以这个论文是在1148年写的
