PhD scholarship in Photonics in Hong Kong

DescriptionCity University of Hong Kong is looking for a candidate for applying PhD scholarship working in area of Photonics in Hong Kong.
The Fellowship awarded by the RGC provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (approximately US$2,600) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year for the awardees for a maximum period of three years.

For Fellowship awardees who are admitted to a 4-year PhD programme in 2013-14, CityU will provide a monthly studentship at the same level as the Fellowship awarded by the RGC for their fourth year of study.

In addition, CityU offers Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Entrance Scholarships. Fellowship recipients at CityU will be awarded the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Entrance Scholarship. The Scholarship, at the value of HK$66,000 (approximately US$8,470), covers students' tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fees in their first year of research studies.
The candidate should have background in Physics and have excellent academic record of current/intermediate past affiliated institutions. Open test result such as GRE, TOFEL, IELTs or GMAT is required. The candidate successfully applied the funding will also have opportunity to take a short period to carry out research at Photonics Research Centre, Dublin Institute of Technology.
