1. Pat, Kate, Mark charge a total of 162 hours to a certain project. If Pat charged twice as much time to the project as Kate and 1/3 as much time as Mark. how many more hous did Mark charge to the project than Kate? ANS: 90

2. In a class of 30 students, 2 students did not borrow any books, 12 students borrow 1 book, 10 students borrow 2 books, and the rest of students borrow at least 3 books. If 平均每人借2本. what is the maximum number of books that any single student could have borrowed. ANS: 13

3. If it took Tom 0.5hour to cycle from his house to the library. was the distance that he cycled greater than 6 miles?

(1) the average speed at which Tom great than 16 feet per second.
(2) the average speed at which Tom less than 18 feet per second.

4.If a certain sample of data has a mean of 20 and a standard deviation of 3. which of the following values is more than 2.5 standard deviation from the mean.

5.How many hours did it take Tom to drive from her house to her parent's home?

(1)Tom's average speed on this trip was 72km per hours.
(2)If Tom's average speed on this trip had been 8km per hour greater, it would take her 1 hour less. ANS: C

6.Alice's take-home pay last year was the same each month, and she saved the same fraction of her take-home pay each month. The total amount of money that she had saved at the end of the years was 3 times the amount of that portion of her monthly take-home pay that she did not save. If all the money that she saved last year was from her take-home pay. what fraction of her take-home pay did she save each moth?

第一题，设Kate的为 X ， P = 2X, M=3/2 X 加起来=162

第2题，由题目可得有6个学生borrow at least 3books，total books borrow are 2X30=60， so， the number of books borrowed by those 6 students are 28，if 5 of them each borrowed 3 books, can get the max 13

5：设X为时间，则72X=80（X-1），两者结合可求解，单独都不行。
