The physicist rightly dreads precise argument，since an argument that is　
convincing only if it is precise loses all its force if the assumptions on　
which it is based are slightly changed，whereas an argument that is
convincing though imprecise may well be stable under small perturbations of

其中 if it is precise的系表结构已经完整了吧？后面直接跟loses all its force不通啊。我没看懂。
你们觉得呢？

"loses" is the verb of "an argument", and "that is convincing only if it is precise" is the clause.

即使觉得楼上说的没有错，但是觉得还是有问题，这里的从句中的两个分句是不是有run-on之嫌啊~
比如这个句子简单的变为A likes B hates C.【 ……is　
convincing ……loses all its force ……】这样的句子怎么看都是不对的吧，至少要在中间加上一个类似and 或者but那样的连词啊~
于是对于这个句子，我依旧是觉得他很不对~

同样颜色的是一组Subject +Verb，括号中的内容全是modifiers。
这样一来是不是清楚多了啊。
