GMAT分数在所有申请材料中的重要性？

我知道很多中国人的GMAT分数都相当高，这个是和国外人比较的。很多native english speaker在分数上未必能竞争得过我们中国人，呵呵～

但是我有一个疑问，那就是，GMAT分数真的那么重要吗？它是录取的最重要的标准吗？

如果一个人的论文、推荐信等其他材料非常好，工作经验也不错，独特性也够强，就是GMAT分数低些，那么会不会影响到录取的可能性？会不会失去上top5的可能？

如果真的是这样，我真的觉得，这个就有点失之偏颇了……毕竟，一个人的优秀，能由GMAT分数决定吗？

这仅仅是我的一家之言，供参考～

我觉得你不能和native比，每个学校招收native学生的比例肯定要比国际学生多，除非你是移民。

其次，各个学校对GMAT分数的重视程度应该是不一样的吧，因为每个学校的标准不一样。所以不用去揣测GMAT的重要性，尽你的努力考出最好的成绩就OK了。

另外，每个人都认为自己的背景，论文等等都是优秀的，这样一来，大家都彼此彼此，也就不存在什么优势了：）

再次，申请学校和找工作差不多，运气还是要的。一个优秀的人，可能被哈佛录取，却被斯坦福据了。合适的才是最好的：）

GMAT is very important because it is the only direct comparison among students and there is a good correlation between GMAT score and student's performance in b-school. However, there is no correlation between GMAT score and future performance after b-school. Furthermore, a person, who got a low verb score in GMAT, is not going to write good essays unless someone wrote for him. If the difference between two students is only GMAT score, then high score will win. I guess for younger applicants, GMAT score is particularly important because they lack w/e.

So get GMAT score as high as possible. For most schools, you need reach the average score.

这么说吧，中国学生被区别对待的，谁让大家分都高了呀。作为一个中国人分低，老外觉得你不行，分数对中国学生说太重要了

可是逻辑上我觉得不公平，在美国长大的native english speaker，基础就比我们好，只是因为我们中国人会考试，才对我们的GMAT分比native的分要求高很多。从这个角度上看，觉得很不公平。

不过说归说，现实归现实，努力了尽力了就不后悔了……
