If x and y are positive integers such that x = 8y + 12, what is the greatest common divisor of x and y?

(1) x = 12u, where u is an integer.

(2) y = 12z, where z is an integer.

答案为B。请教解题的思路。

OG的解法是用代入法。偶觉得要是数字简单的用代入法还是蛮有效的，但是像这样8啊，12啊之类的数字至少在偶看来是不简单的数字了用代入法一来容易计算错误，二来万一不巧取的两个数字不具有代表性，岂不误了大事？
