[求助] 哥大DING信分析，急＋急

Columbia的DING信见下，措辞和一个朋友的哥大DING信有很大区别。弄不明白什么意思。是说明年申请就能录取吗，可也没给我WL？（本人申请很晚，3月1日DEADLINE提交，在ROLLING下，是否与申请太晚相关？但BW上说哥大现在还在发OFFER呢）。此事关系到今年去向，急，请各位NN分析分析。

It was extremely difficult to make this decision, and we sincerely appreciate the interest you have shown in Columbia. Although we cannot admit you to this term, we recognize the strengths of your application and would like to speak with you if you do not accept an offer elsewhere and would like to reapply to a future term. If you will reapply, please contact XXX after June XX, 2005 via email at XXXX.

We thank you for your interest in Columbia Business School, and we are sorry that we must disappoint you at this time.

感觉好像你申请太晚了，已经没有了名额的感觉。它们希望你再申请，估计机会很大。

我已经拿到了两封这样的拒信，各个学校都一样。没戏了。明年，换别的学校吧。Stern is also nice!!!

I think they want to give you their feedback of your application, strong and weak areas. If you can improve in the weak areas as suggested by the next season and reapply, then you will be very likely accepted.

You are very promising to be admitted next year. Thus, you should apply as early as possible next time. BTW: the Adcom want to know Columbia is really your first choice, so you should show your enthusiasm for them and, I guess you might even try immediately contcating them to let them know you love CBS the most (in case they might put you on this year's WL? seems impossible, but who knows? you won't get worse result. If I were you, I would fly to NY to meet they and express my passion immediately, of course, you must have the visa). I believe you will succeed next year.

意思是你今年没戏了.如果你没有接受其他学校的OFFER并且准备将来再申请疙瘩,那就在上面那个日期后联系XXX.

不会吧，非得first choice才录取？那么申请人如果申请多个学校就需要说谎才能被录取了？那些牛校怎么会介意申请人申请其他学校？

哪儿提及FIRST CHOICE?

关于first choice我觉得是偏见，哥大的确是关注一些人对学校的commitment，因为很多NYer特别是I banker都会apply for columbia as a default，他们并不真得想去，只是觉得如果去不成别的学校的话，留在纽约至少可以保存人脉，生活不会有特别大的变化。BW上面你也可以发现很多人同时被columbia和很多更牛的学校录取而最后没有选择哥大，难道他们都在interview或者application撒谎说columbia is my first choice?

所谓阐述love to school，这是每个学校都一样的。那个waitlister不会说我对这个学校的commitment特别强？所以说，这个绝对有帮助，但是不一定是你get into columbia的key point.

不知道楼主有没有INTERVIEW?如果有的话，说明很有希望，如果没有的话，说明至少你应该够INTERVIEW的资格。如果已经INTERVIEW的话，今年再申请可能不用面试哦，我看到今年有几个REAPPLICANT都是如此的。

还有哦，不觉得学校发了拒信之后会收回。我觉得今年这一批要赶上会比较困难。明年申请参考以上看法。
