Definitely choose Queens. I was told by my prof at UBC (Maurice Levi) that Queens' PhD are one of the tops in Canada and accounting area will become even hotter in the coming years. To know about job market for biz phd in general in Canada, check out www.commerce.usask.ca/faculty/tfeltham/ASAC2001.doc. For infomation in the States, see www.aacsb.edu/publications/dfc/DFC-ES-final.pdf. You'll hate yourself if you make the decision based on how much grant you get now, as living costs vary in different cities, and all schools only provide fundings that will cover a moderate student lifestyle.

I also prefer Queen's. As I know, in America Ph.D in accounting is very easy to find a good position, but Ph.D in Finance is much more difficult unless you graduate from top business school.

In addition, I don't know what's you long goal.  In Canada, you can prepare to immigrant after you work as TA or RA for one year in your school. Your status is very important If you want to work in America in future. If you become a citizen of Canada, you will be much easier to find a job in America and enjoy many benefit from Canada ( you know canada's benefit is very well, even your parents can enjoy it)

probably, you don't care about your status now. But I am sure you will know the importance in future.
