GMAT OG 15 的 Diagnostic Test - Quantitative Questions - Problem Solving - No. 9:

A researcher computed the mean, the median, and the standard deviation for a set of performance scores. If 5 were to be added to each score, which of these three statistics would change?
a). the mean only
b). The median only
c). The standard deviation only
d). The mean and the median
e). The mean and the standard deviation

解答也看不懂吖：

Arithmetic Statistics

If 5 were added to each score, the mean would go up by 5, as would the median. However, the spread of the values would remain the same, simply centered around a new value. So, the standard deviation would NOT change.

The correct answer is d.

求大神点拨，为什么5加进去了这些值就可以变了，难道所谓的 “a set of performance scores" 在国外是一个默认的数字集合？

计算了一组数字的 平均数，中位数和标准差。在这组数的每个数上加5以后，平均数和中位数都会增加的，只有标准差不会变

5 added to EACH score. 每个数加5。 例如1  2 3 4 5 平均数 3 中位数3  变成6 7 8 9 10 平均数8 中位数8   两个值都go up by 5 as it explained

对国人来说，数学不是靠数学，是在靠我们的读题能力，英语阅读能力；题都看不懂，数学功底再牛也没有用！这是英文考试！楼主我考过多次了，次次都发现，有那么三五次，就是很绕很长文字很多数学恶心题，看不懂题目；不要提升数学能力，提升阅读能力才是正道！

这个题目主要看的就是中位数、标准差、平均数的定义。好好理解一下吧。

欧，还是读题失误，没有看仔细5 added to each score这句话，谢谢！
