As young as a secondary school student, I was pushed by parents and teachers to work hard in order to be good enough to enter a university. Why should we attend the university? I fully agree with the statements that career preparation, increased knowledge and new experience are critical reasons.

In my point of view, career preparation is the most important reason. Most enterprises nowadays are using university education as one key factor to identify and select people.   For example, when we prepare resumes, it is important to involve the information of the university attended as the education background. No one can overlook the fact that the more developed a society, the higher education level it requires for. Without enough career preparation, you even cannot get a chance of interview. Admittedly, people may say that there are lots of working opportunities that do not requirement university education. But experience tells us that people with degrees always have much more selections than people  that have never entered universities.

Another important reason is increased knowledge. As an EE student, I studied theoretical background knowledge and practical technologies in the university. Lecturers also updated us on the latest research results of the field. I was so impressed when I assembled my first radio and TV set in the experiment class. With the solid background built up during the university time, we can go further in our field of research. It seems to me that people can benefit from the knowledge gained in the university for the whole life.

In addition, new experience is also one tempting reason. I still remember the first time when I left for the city of the university that is 1,000 kilometers away from my hometown. I was so exciting, curious and a bit nervous about the new life. There is an old English proverb that says ‘Seeing is believing’. In that strange city, I became more independent and confident than before. I also got the chance to discover a world that is totally different from my city. I tried to understand the new customs, study the dialects, enjoy the local food and make a lot of friends. Those experiences are really fantastic.

Apart from the foregoing reasons, I have heard some interesting ones such as: to fulfill parent’s expectation, to follow the majority, or to make it as a hobby of collecting degrees. No matter how, I would say that attending the university is one of the most cherished experience in my life.

Another important reason is increased knowledge. As an EE(建议不用速写) student, I studied theoretical background knowledge and practical technologies in the university. Lecturers also updated us on the latest research results of the (in this) field. I was so impressed when I assembled my first radio and TV set in the experiment class. With the solid background(knowledge and skills) built up during the university time, we can go further in our field of research. It seems to me that people can benefit from the knowledge gained in the university for the whole life.

In addition, new experience is also one tempting reason. I still remember (the situation) the first time when I left for the city of the university that is 1,000 kilometers away from my hometown. I was so exciting, curious and a bit nervous about the new life. There is an old English proverb that says ‘Seeing is believing’. In that strange city, I became more independent and confident than before. I also got the chance to discover a world that is (was) totally different from my city. I tried to understand the new customs, study the dialects, enjoy the local food and make a lot of friends. Those experiences are really fantastic.

Apart from the foregoing reasons, I have heard some interesting ones such as: to fulfill parent’s(parents') expectation, to follow the majority, or to make it as a hobby of collecting degrees. No matter how, I would say that attending the university is one of the most cherished experience in my life.

谢谢修改, 我正准备打印出来呢, 看电脑实在头疼.

这一句:
I still remember (the situation) the first time when I left for the city of the university that is 1,000 kilometers away from my hometown.
好象还是不太好

不如改成
I still remember the time when I left for the city of the university that is 1,000 kilometers away from my hometown.
比较简洁

As young as a secondary school student, I was pushed by parents and teachers to work hard in order to be good enough to enter a (good)university. Why should we attend the university? I fully agree with the statements that career preparation, increased knowledge and new experience are critical reasons.

In my point of view, career preparation is the most important reason. Most enterprises nowadays are using university education as one key factor (criterion)to identify and select people.   For example, when we prepare resumes, it is important to (present our education background)involve the information of the university attended as the education background. No one can overlook the fact that the more developed a society (is), the higher education level it requires for. Without enough career preparation (in a good university), you even cannot get a chance of interview. Admittedly, people may say that there are lots of working opportunities that do not requirement university education. But experience tells us that people with degrees always have much more selections(priority or choices,or advantage) than people  that have never entered universities.

Another important reason is (the)increased knowledge. As an EE student, I studied theoretical background knowledge and practical technologies in the university. Lecturers also updated us on the latest research results of the field. I was so impressed when I assembled my first radio and TV set in the experiment class. With the solid background built up during the university time, we can go further in our field of research.
