prep07 SC矛盾的两题（关于同位语）

OA is E. 对于B和C的解释是同位语只能对应前面最近的那个名词，part of a deal和million不是同类所以错（trend, increase，等抽象的大名词除外）。

可是同样是prep07的另外一道题：
A group of paleontologists recently announced that a site in Utah has yielded fossils of some of the
biggest armored dinosaurs ever found, and that they were at least 25 million years older than any
similar dinosaur type previously found in North America.
(A) and that they were at least 25 million years older than any similar dinosaur type previously

OA is D. 当然对D项我没异议。但是fossils和前面的dinosaurs并不对应，这不是和上面一题矛盾吗？

对于第二道的答案同样有点疑惑。同求。

这道题我做错了。我在想是不是这样子的：第一个句子的结构是：it will purchase sth for 950 million as  part of a deal( that will... )，这里的part of a deal里的part并不指代950 million，as引导的句子用来修饰will purchase sth的行为，意即：作为交易的一部分它将购买sth。可以把as提前：As part of a  deal...,it will purchase ....。因此，因为part of a deal指的是前面的这种行为，不是句子里的sth，不是950 million，自然就不存在同位语的问题。
不太认同单纯的说同位语只能指最近的，比较觉得只要没有歧义既可。比如：
第二题的结构：a site has yielded fossils of sth(...),fossils...这个地方直接用的原文中的fossils，并没有用其它的词去替换fossils，比如：things(l例子不太好)..，不会引起歧义，因此正确。

我是这样理解的
先看第二题，因为同位语离要修饰的fossil 比较远，直接说会产生修饰dinosaur的误解，所以题目通过重复fossil消除这种歧义。
再看第一题，第一题后部分并没有重复出现需要修饰的单词，B C跟在million后容易产生修饰million的误解，所以选择E 如果 前文说了什么 订单是950 million， 订单is part of a deal that balabala 那么这里就类似第二题，跟在million后一点问题都没有。但是没重复先行词直接做同位语，确实会出现指代不明的歧义。
举个简单的例子，lily and lucy, a beautiful girl who is preparing gmat, are doing homework. 这里就近原则，我理解为lucy的同位语。lily and lucy, lily who is a writer,are doing homework. 这里因为我重复了lily 就很清楚说明修饰对象，虽然这个同位语离lucy 近 当然我这个例子举的很烂
不造我理解的对不对。。。

说一下我的理解，首先，第一题我不认为是同位语从句，因为有as，或者说我不认为是一般典型的同位语从句。
同位语必须是解释一个名词，第一题中的part明显是没有对应的名词的，而as 代指前面的整个句子。（as很多时候都是这样用法）
这里我顺便说一下，这题as a part和as part 应该都是可以的，之所以D错的原因，是make的逻辑主语变成了company。这是我的猜测，还请大神证实一下

第二题，这道题才是同位语从句。NOTICE：关于你说的 “同位语只能对应前面最近的那个名词”这一点，我无法认同，不知道你哪里看到的。我只知道同位语应该是修饰主语中的一个N词，中心原则就是不要引起歧义，这就要求不要太远，逻辑正确，单复数一致等等。这里没有绝对的rule，只有一些simple principles。

当然这都是我自己总结的，I will appreciate it if you say I am wrong.

(D) million as a part ofa deal to make (tomake应该是修饰deal，这里错误修饰itwill purchase sth to make；deal同位语不同类错误)

(E) million as part of a deal that will make(as part of 没有用同位语，避免不同类问题)

句子结构：The company has accountedthat | it will purchase sth for $950m as part of a deal.
