[求助]An Offer for UIUC Campus Visit-PHD

I received an email from UIUC Ph.D. director asking me to visit with them next month.  They cover all the costs for the trip.  I am currently in the USA.  

Anybody knows how usually oncampus interview be conducted. They also told me there are other 6 applicants coming for the interview on the same day. They usually accept 3-5 students.  Is it true that schools usually send offers to more students than they usually admit since some of the applicants may decide not to go in the end?

Background:  Associate degree from a chinese university and a bachelor's degree in accounting from a very ordinary U.S. university.  No master's degree.

What program are you applying for?

Someone told me they will ask you econometric technique questions for Finance PhD.

btw, what university is it?

Generally, if you have not taken the telephone interview, the on-campus interview will concentrate on your personal experience and your research interest.

Preparing some good questioins might be helpful.

btw, UIUC is one of the best schools in accounting. congratulations.

My friend is apply to UIUC B-school's PhD program too. He told me the deadline is 02/01. You are really amazing to get the offer so early. I guess your numbers helped out. Do you feel free to tell us the concentration you are applying? Accounting?
