This is the most sensible question to ask for people of my age. To give you some idea about how old I am, I can tell you that I graduated from university in the last century. Even though I was one of the youngest students in the class back then, I have passed the mid-35 mark after so many years. To make it even worse, the earliest intake I can apply for is 2016 when I will graduate from my MBA program. By the time I start my PHD program if I am lucky enough to get into any, I will be almost 40.
When you are young, age is not something you need to think about. But when you get older, age means a lot to you. First of all, age means responsibility. At a certain age, you may have a family to support. You may not be able to afford to give up your salary. Your family responsibility may also prevent you from being fully devoted to your study. Age also means that people may look at you differently, often on no valid grounds though. Lastly but not the least, age limits your ability to take risk. If the endeavor fails, you have no more time to reestablish yourself.
