TIme2 2'33
a woman tells the police that she was kidnapped by her mother's boyfriend in the past 10 years. the kidnapper convinced the woman and then they got married, even have a child who is 3.

Time3 2'30
it's nature to wonder why a victim and a captor can live together and not escape. But it's unfair to discuss what the victim should or shouldn't have done. We don't face that situation, don't konw what the victim are thinking at that time.

TIme4 1'30
the background of the kidnapped girl. And what she suffered during that period.

Time5 and 6 6'34
The author wants to find out a really great football movie, and he lists many movies and gives simple introduction each other.

Obstacle 6'28
Recently, campus students protests commencements, resulting many commencement speakers cancel their speeches. The author thinks that the problems is the format, not the speakers.
Students should have chance to give their opinions while commencement speakers do speech. criticism should be say out, especially when the speaker is a controversal person.

Time 2: The article introduces a story of woman who is kidnapped. (1:46)

Time 3: Paragraghes explain why victims do not escape from kidnappers. (2:16)

Time 4:  The artilce further introduces the background information of the victim girl, and undocumented immigrant could be the key reason why she did not report this kidnapped issue. (1:30)

Time 5: The article discusses about movies of American football and checkes weather there has been a great football movie. (2:08)

Time 6:  The article continues to introduce football movie.(2:15)

Obstacle: The article introduces an issue that graduates' protests have led to controversial commencement speakers to stop their speeches earlier. The author expresses the viewpoint to this issue, and think that graduates' action is not correct.
The writer explains that graduates should debate and argue against speaker's viewpoints rather than protest and disturb speeches of speakers. What is more, the author explains reasons why students should express their standpoints in this way. (5:09)

1.        Speaker
The man elaborates that why veterans miss war, which seems odd for normal people. The major reason is brotherhood (the close connection with others in the team and you can count on them). In the army, everyone loves others more than himself/herself and everyone is willing to sacrifice for others. When the soldiers are back to real society, they are confused about who they can trust, who they can believe or who they can believe.

2.        Speed

Time 2(293 words): 2’
A young woman went to the police office this week and reported that she was kidnapped about a decade ago when she was only 15. She said she was drugged by her mother’s boyfriend and then brought away. During the more than ten years, they moved around to different places. But the accuse was in question. In reality, the young woman was married to this kidnapper and they had a child about 3 years old now. According to their neighbor, they live quite normal and they are surprised that they are actually a kidnapper/rapist and a victim. Sometime, the neighbor even saw the woman dancing happily. The claim is questioned since the woman seems to live a normal life instead of living in hell for a decade like other victims did.

Time 3(352 words): 2’09”
It is unfair to judge why the woman hadn’t escaped earlier. According to psychologist, we just don’t know what she has gone through, what he actually did to her and how she felt about the outside world, the connection between them. So, it’s unfair for us to say why she didn’t do anything. For victims, they are afraid to escape because the kidnapper usually is a kind and nice person in front of others. The neighbors and friends have never seen the abuse. The victim is afraid that if she said so, no one would believe her.

Time 4(229 words): 1’23”
The woman is not a common American teenage girl when she was kidnapped. She was from Mexico and lived in US for only six months, she has not attended school, no friends, no extended family and no documentation in US. So she was completed under the capturer’s control. And she was afraid of being deported so did not turn to the police.
It’s lucky that we only have the chance to just imagine what she went through and how she felt. And fortunately the victim of another case finally got the courage to report to police and sent the abuser to jail.

Time 5(331 words): 2’02”
The reporter searched the Wikipedia for football movies. On the list, there are more than 100 movies, but much of them are in fact not football movies although their name or some scenes are related to football.

Time 6(336 words): 1’51”
The reporter introduces several football movies and actors.

The Rest (497 words):1’58”
Finally, the reported introduces around 10 movies that he thought could be called great football movies.

3.        Obstacle (867 words): 5’26”
The commencement speech is questioned, not because of the speaker, but more because of the format. The writer encouraged college students to debate the commencement speaker instead of protesting.

Speaker

Why veterans miss war

Civilian won’t miss war, but soldiers miss war.
Simple need, cinemas
Nothing there except combat, bored
Experience very bizarre, not scare,

Sound later than the bullet, psychological problem,
Miss almost all of it, not psychopath,
The thing he missed is brotherhood, nothing to do with the feeling, love others more than himself,

Speed

In California kidnapping: An immigrant girl alone, afraid

Time 2
A woman lived with her kidnapper for 10 years and then walked into a police office.
People are baffled by this case because her neighbors found she were married normally and had a 3-year-old kid with her “husband”.

Time 3
Psychologists will tell you it’s normal to think that you have the courage to escape but really you don’t.
And people don’t know what happened on victims so do not discourage people to tell the truth.
It’s unfair.

Time 4
The girl is not a modern US 15-year-old kid with resources, but from Mexico and knew nothing about English, US laws and friends.
She did have the alleged abuse.
You’re lucky to only have to imagine it. Those victims are courageous to come out.

Has there ever been a great football movie?

Time 5
Was there a Great football movie in US history…
Introduction to various films

Time 6 & the rest
Introduction, introduction, introduction……

Obstacle

Dear graduates: Instead of protesting commencement speakers, debate them

The format is the cause of protesting not the speakers themselves.
A speech from on high leaves students slighted and voiceless.

Not suggest to avoid controversial speakers, but ask students to debate them face to face
Give speakers an opportunity to get a connection to detractors.
Make college students watch the competing arguments and marshal their own.

The most successful commencement speakers solicited student input.

It won’t solve the problem. But it would help.

An example on writers’ own commencement, a world leader failed to reach to students because of protests.

speaker:
soldiers go back home after war while missing the war.
we have to answer why they miss the war.
present his own experience:
in a intense combat, they were all trapped in a valley with no water, no cooked food,
no communication, nothing young man would be fond of.
they were bored and wanna say: please attack us. god, please there is somthing happened.
the speaker explained his thoughts: he was no scared during the combat, but really scared before and after.
young man's died more than 6 times than young women.
these boys come home from war after 1 year with tremendous phsycalogical hurt.
the speaker hold a party and invite the men who came back from war and asked what do they miss.
brotherhood.
Brotherhood is different from friendship. It has nothing to do with who you like. It is a connection and a mutual agreement
that men in the team mush put others' safety beyond his own.
So when they come back without knowing who to count on and who to love, which really make the confused.
This is what the miss, brotherhood.

time 2:
a woman came to police to end her decades of kidnapping saga
another eg: a "happy couple". the preganancy was the kidnapping/rapist victim.

time 3:
we should have the courage to escape. make ourselves safe against those threats.
to judge what the young woman should or should not do is unfair.
interview, AP ES: there can be stronger strain and bonds than physical ones.
CNN MK: a friendly guy can be capable of such evil.

time 4:
the victim is not typical. She's from Mexico. just arrived at america several months ago, no network of friends.
but she will live in a psychological shadow over the rest of her life.
It's lucky to just imagine what they have been through.

time 5:
several examples but no football movie.
interview: several examples but no football movie.

time 6:
conversation: several movies, some with true story ==b

time 7:
several movies about football

obstacle:
there is a cancellation of campus protest speech.

the author do not advacate the protest,
nor suggest avoiding the controversial speaker.

"The matrix" you do not know him until you fight against him.

Time 2: 2:02 A woman reported to police, that she was kidnapped at 15, and got married with kidnapper, and has daughter, even when she was alone, she didin't tired to escape.
Time 3: 2:15, No one has the right to judge victims, because people won't know that happened to them, furthermore the "nice guy" of abusers might prevent vicitims from asking help from other persons.
Time 4: 1:18 This vicitim is immigrants from Mexico, has no roots in USA, because of this situtaion, she had no person to ask for help , live under the shadow of the kidnapper.
Time 5: 1:01 Discuss movies on " list of sport films" and raise the topic--has there ever been a great football movie.
Time 6: 1:20 Dicuss some movies and actors

Obstacle 7:00, Critize the current form of commencement, and suggest to add a pre-commence seminar between speakers and students. A good speake would communicate with students face to face or via mail, and solicit students.
