LZ has a solid point. I'm drawing this from my own experience as well: 6 yrs working in the U.S. low ranking Bschool, top ranking Bschool, I've gone through it all. I do agree with LZ that if all you had was China education/experience, you shoulld have a well thought out plan if you are committed to a more regional, lower ranked MBA program in the United States. My 2 cents if you cannot gain admission to a top school:
1. go to a school located in a major U.S. city with a lot of job opportunities.
2. completely get out of your comfort zone and emerge yourself with the U.S. culture and the people. The last thing you want to do is to hang out with your Chinese classmates all day everyday.
