Financial Assistance and Scholarships
Financial Assistance
Students who have the right of abode in Hong Kong or have resided or have had their homes in Hong Kong continuously for three complete years immediately before commencing their studies in an award bearing PolyU programme (i.e. local students), are eligible to apply for the Government's Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS). The scheme offers interest-bearing loans to eligible students for covering tuition fees. An administrative fee and a relatively higher interest rate are charged once the loan is drawn down until it is fully repaid. Applications are non-means tested, which means that there is no assessment of family's income and assets. For details of the scheme, please refer to the Government's website at www.sfaa.gov.hk/eng/schemes/nlss.htm.
Also, there are some PolyU subjects/courses that have been approved for the Continuing Education Fund (CEF). Eligible students enrolled in courses included on the government's list of reimbursable courses may apply for subsidies. Please refer to the Continuing Education Fund website at www.sfaa.gov.hk/cef/ for information.
Scholarships
Entry/admission scholarships may be provided by individual programme offering departments. Please visit the page "Tuition Fees - Taught Postgraduate Programmes" under individual programmes listed in Study@PolyU webpage for scholarship availability and further enquiries. A limited number of post-entry scholarships are donated by outside organizations and individuals to postgraduate students. Most scholarship candidates are nominated by the Heads of academic departments based on academic merit.
PolyU reserves the right to change the terms or withdraw the above scholarship. In case of any dispute/disagreement, PolyU’s decision is final. |
