I applied for PT MBA in CUHK and received the offer already for response deadline 25 Feb 2014. I suggest you to reconsider your job move to PM and investigate the possibility to be a PM at Hong Kong - essential the employment outlook - now that you are stationed at Singapore already.

I traveled frequently between Hong Kong and Singapore and as a layman to IT industry, my impression is that both cities lacks of somewhat innovation as a result of the high rental and imbalanced industry focus by the government - real estate and finance for Hong Kong. Singapore is slightly more diverse in this aspect. Innovation industry is not well-supported at Hong Kong as far as I see. My guess is Bay Area, the west coast of US may have better opportunity for PM in IT industry. Plus for full-time MBA without scholarship, the one-year programme is not significantly cheaper than that of US programme.

It's a long-run for MBA education thus I suggest sher55 to take it slowly and through consider the casual connection between MBA education and post-MBA career development before making any commitment to an offer. I don't think to have an offer will be a problem for you. :-) Moreover, don't put too much concern on Return of Investment since only a few jobs can make the number right and I suppose PM is not one of those jobs.

Thanks lhlincoln for your advice. I agree with you that the innovation is not strong in both HK and SG. My plan is to get back to China after the MBA. China puts a lot more emphasis on the technology and innovation and also has much larger needs of the PMs.

I've considered moving to California for very long time, but mostly due to my family, I gave up the plan of settling down in US. Actually I'm ok with taking a intermediate role such as "Pre-sales" before moving to PM role. Now I'm hesitating on should I move the role in career first or should I take the MBA now. Tough question... Need some time to think about it...

My personal suggestion is if you wish to make a career switch, the fastest way will be 'burgling' into their industry firstly - by all means, efforts, resources you can deploy, such as summer intern, 'in-industry' senior referral, 'in-house' referral, internal transfer WITHOUT taking any full-time off education unless it appears it is a must for you to take such education and without completion of such education, you will never get that job.

Full-time MBA education, most of which are expensive and will put you in heavy financial burden and therefore limit your career selection post-MBA if you have to repay the loans - only a few jobs can make the ROI figure right as I mentioned previously you know.

Anyhow, congratulates to your harvest of offers. Talk with the 'in-industry' people of PM and think it about.

同贺，今年hku的录取比例貌似灰常高啊

我是申请full time 的，到目前为止，已收到hku的offer，被hkust拒了。
hku那边要交45000 hkd deposit。
cuhk 已面，在考虑要不要等cuhk的？

You can call CUHK MBA office to check the progress. Usually they will make decision within 2 weeks after you r interview. Good luck.
