Hi IMD-MBA alumi,

Thanks very much for sharing the information.

I got a mail from IMD EMBA program yesterday, saying I was considered more suitable for its EMBA program by a lady from its MBA program. I met and talked with this lady last november in Shanghai. I am now thinking to apply for its full- time program (preparing to take the GMAT soon). I met the guy from EMBA program late last afternoon and he introduced me the EMBA program. I am now a little confused: does it  a sign that the chance is less for the full time program application?

My background: 6yrs. trading (state-owned company), 6 yrs. sales management for two mid-sized Switzerland company (manufacture JV in China), and 2 yrs. own business. I had only 2 yrs. experience in college.

Hi Goodwish,

I don't think that it's a sign of less opportunity in full time program.  They just thought that you are more suitable for EMBA given your background.  

It's up to you to decide which one is more suitable for you, you can consider the following factors: the classmate profile, the future career path after graduation, your current career path, opportunity cost and return on investment etc.  

Think it over, esp. for people like you who have been working for relatively longer time.

I found that there is no requirement of TOEFL for admission on the IMD website, while other Europe schools ask for that, such as Insead.

Just want to confirm with you if the Toefl is not necessory to IMD.

Hi,

Yes, no need for TOEFL.  

IMD's admission process, especially the interview has made sure that every admitted participant is excelled in English communication, in fact far above the TOEFL requirement.

Hi, imd-mba,

I attended IMD MBA section of May in Shanghai and really interested in the IMD MBA course. However, It is said that most of students who have been admitted by IMD have high salary level before they attend this  school.So, I am wondering if salary level is required by IMD MBA application.

Don't worry about your salary unless it's extremely low comparing with other local candidates.

They will look at your overall package. The more experience you have, the less important your GPA is. However, you may like to explain the low GPA a little bit in your applications.

Hi, IMD-MBA,

I'm from IT background, have 6 year working experience in top IT companies (2 years in China, 4 years in Germany). Maybe IMD is the only interested full time European MBA programme for me. Does the MBA Programm from IMD offeres the Techno. Management Field (I'm interested in the High technology venture investment/technology management in Asia after the MBA programme.)?
