Time2 1'51"
After information technology, VCs did more deals in business and financial services than any other industries. After healthcare and information technology, venture capitalists spent more money in business and financial services than any other group of startups. While VCs did fewer deals in healthcare, VCs spent just as much money in total on healthcare entrepreneurs than in IT entrepreneurs last year.

Some people think that they will not become happy until they reach XYZ goals. Others think people need to be happy with life as it is. The author, however, want both. For a long time, he think happiness(satisfied) and driven(unsatisfied) are odds with each other. But as he learn more from people who had a great deal of success, he realized it's possible to be happy.

Three major things you need to do before meeting your mentor:
1, Think about one of your specific goal for 2014
2,What you feel in your way of achieving it, problems, barriers, hurdles
3, The help you need to achieve the goal.

2. 2'31"
The VCs in US did more deals in IT industries than healthcare, while the total spent on these two industries are equal.
Business and financial service is in the second place.
VC is still the predominantly a West Coast game where the Silicon Valley locates, compared to NY and Boston.

3. 1'49"
Most people will be happy(satisfied ) once they achieve a goal.
While people are driven for their goals they are dissatisfied.
People who are always happy are the ones who do not want more.
Can being happy(satisfied) and being driven come along? YES!

4. 1'45"
The law of diminishing returns:
When you gets more something, per unit of it becomes less valuable to you.
Three examples about Money, Championship, and Client.

5. 1‘55“
Loving the practice of what you do makes you stay driven on your goals while you achieve more of them.
If you love your practice, then happiness is easy and you can be happy before and after you achieve  your goals.
"It's only the people who embrace their work as a craft and fall in love with the boredom of doing it day in and day out that stay driven over the long-term."
"When you learn to love the process of what you are doing and not focus so much on the goal, you automatically find happiness while staying driven."
【这两句话太赞啦,忍不住copy过来mark一下~!

6. 3'11"
First of all, seek out the correct mentors.
Prepare for 3 questions before the meeting:
1.What is your specific goal?
2.What do you feel in the way of achieving it?
3.What is the specific help you to achieve that goal?

how to become both driven and happy
why some feel less happy when they achieve the goal:the diminishing return
how to become driven and happy before and after the success
enjoy the process of your daily work
2:45s
you may need a mentor to achieve your goal
before meeting your mentor you need to do three things
1 focus on your specific goals not the other things
2 realise the roadblock is also the milestone
3 the specific help your need to achieve your goal
an apparent roadblock may indeed be a milestone.a problem may be a pivot point
people love to help, they are just wary of being asked

main idea:venture capital is a good approach to grow a cpmpany quickly.
venture capital boast larger in 2013,mainly lies in field of informational technology and healthcare enterprises and business and financial servies.
so far, venture capital is still a west world game.

TIME3 02'04
main idea:there are two thought:happiness comes at the momoent you achieving your goal,or lies in moment right now.
the author disire both of the kinds of happiness--do not want to delay happiness until reach some milestone and also is longing to get better. she confused whether one can be add to another.

TIME4 01'41
main idea:the goal that seems to be more valuable and significant at the very first beginging will become less valuable as you actually aclieving this goal.

TIME5 01'26
main idea:the way to stay driven is to love the process duing your work, enbracing your work as a craft and fall in love with it,then you will fell happy before and after achieving the goals.

TIME6 03'05
main idea:the best way to achieve your goal is to meet and talk to your mentor.

Time2:
Last year, venture capitalist did most deal in IT industry and as much total in healthcare with larger price. The dense investment proves that San Francisco is the No.1 business center which has more deal than New York and Boston.

“And while VCs did fewer deals in healthcare, U.S. VCs spent just as much in total on healthcare entrepreneurs than they did on IT entrepreneurs last year” as much… than?

Time3
It is possible to be happy and driven at the same time.

Time4
The law of diminishing returns means as you get more of something, it gets less value.

Time5:
The method to keep driven and happy is to enjoy the practice of progress.

Time6:
Clarify 3 questions before you discuss 2014 goal with your mentor:
1 the specific goal 2 acknowledge what you feel 3 the specific help you need

Obstacle:
>For developing “toothbrush” product of hardware, Google do somethings including purchasing Nest Labs.
>Benefits Nest Labs bring to Google.
>Effort paid to research thermostats similarity products- home remote control.
>Nest will operate separately from Google with the charge man report to Mr. Page.
>Other potential misstep Google need pay attention to.
