Tip 1: Do yourresearch

The first step in decidingwhich school to attend for an MBA program is doing copious amounts of researchso that you can narrow down the type of school that is right for you. Whendoing research, the school’s website can provide a wealth of knowledge whereyou can learn about the curriculum, internship opportunities, and the classprofile. Make sure that what you are looking for aligns with what the MBAprogram has to offer.

After completing general research online, get in contact with the MBA program’s admissionsdepartment through email or a phone call. Request additional information, find out if they have any upcoming events you can attend andconsider meeting with them to ask any questions you may still have.
第一步就是访问你想申请学校的网站,学校的网站能提供很全面的信息。 这样可以帮助你快速选择想申请的一些学校。

Tip 2: Visit campus

While there are several very important factors in a prospective student’sdecision on where to apply and attend school, nothing could be more importantthan actually stepping foot on campus. By visiting campus, you can get a feel for the true atmosphere of the school.

In visiting the school youwill learn if it is located in the middle of a major city, or tucked away in amore campus-like environment. Sitting in on a class allows you to learn how a typical class is run and you will be able to see how professors interact with students and how much individual attention students receive so as tofoster their growth as managers. Visiting the school can also give you more insight into the different services that are available to current students andgraduates. The uniquefeatures of each individual school will help you to start narrowing yourchoices of what the right fit is for you.
拜访学校也是个比较好的方法, 这样可以非常真实的了解学校。 你可以通过和在读学生聊天, 拜访学校招生处等等方法来了解这个项目是不是适合你。

Tip 3: “Talk” to current students

After looking at what the MBA program says about itself, it is even moreimportant to speak with a current or former student about their personalexperiences in the program. Don’t be afraid to reach out and find someone whocan give you some insights as to what the typical day is like. These peoplewill likely be representative of potential classmates at the school, and mayeven be amongst them!

When speaking with currentstudents or graduates, don’t be afraid to ask them some of hard questions.Students tend to be very genuine about their experiences. Ask them aboutinteractions outside the classroom with professors and other important staffmembers (career center); discuss whether their expectations are being met andwhat they like and dislike about the program and school; ask them aboutthe typical day/week; and confirm what you’ve discovered through your research, especially the aspects that appealed most to you.

Tip 4: Career Center

The goal of every MBA program is to equip students with the skills necessary tosucceed in business. One major part of beginning that path is to find the right job. Prospective students should talk with an advisor in the school’s Career Center and find out whatopportunities are available for current and former students (internships,co-ops, on-campus recruitment, etc.).

Other than the formal process of actually getting a job, a career center should be able to tell you what type of networking events are available to all students during the school year. Networking with potential employers, alumni, and companies in general is the most common way through with people find jobs. The strengths of a MBA program’s Career Center should be a major reason to consider a school.

Tip 5: Overall School Strengths

Before making any sort of decision on where to apply and attend school, youmust first know what you are looking to get out of the program… learning from renownedprofessors in an industry, connecting with future employers, a great internshipexperience, starting salary, or job placement.

Many students are lookingto work in a certain geographic region, so a school’s reputation or student success in a specific city, or even country could be very important.Having a goal coming into an MBA program of what industry, work environment, and job type you would like to have is also important. While of course thesecan change, initially aligning your strengths and goals with an MBA program’swill help to narrow down the options.
学校的好坏程度有时候还要取决于你想呆得城市。 其他的参考标准还有学校的教授, 就业机会, 学校声誉等等。
