Campus Visit 能提高录取率的最大的价值是？ How do I prepare for Campus visit?

大家好！尽管时间不早了，本着既然要申就全力以赴的原则，计划12月初去做个Campus Tour. 预计一周，在明天finalize之前想听听大家的建议和忠告。

简单介绍我的背景：
G730， T108， Top healthcare外企5年sales+marketing --> partner/sales&marketing manager in a start-up company in medical device,   小本国际经济学GPA 3.3 ,   Female

我的选择标准是:
1. Top20, not finance oriented, strong in healthcare
2. Value loyalty, campus visit can be a significant plus in credit
3. 一周时间走得过来- 东岸为主

目前campus visit暂定：
Wharton, Duke, Michigan, Yale

时间暂定：　12.2-12.10

以上，恳请各位帮我参谋参谋，给一些对于Campus Visit的建议或忠告　
（尤其鉴于我在自己的Dream School Yale的 info 时踩到了地雷以至于被AO BS... 现在申Yale在我看来已经类似Crisis Management　——　惹毛了一个客户，但需要诚实、投入和策略来赢回信任和order的感觉。苦笑。　强烈希望此行必须加分不能傻呵呵地跑去提前被拒减分，欢迎warning and tips... ）

It's a good list, although I'd advice you really focus on schools in the northeast. (NYU, Wharton) I've worked in the US for 6 years and when you go to bschool it's important to be near the center of business ---> NYC, Northeast, West Coast.

I'm near Philly so you can contact me when you are here and we can chat. Your background should get you into the door of Wharton/NYU/Columbia.

I don't think any school will evaluate you based on if you visited the campus or not, in fact, they specifically said school visit does not count in the evaluation process, no brownie points. But it's good to give you some talking points in the essay and really have a good feel of the school location and students. You don't have to be worried about anything, just realx and try to get a feel of the school, the class and the students.

Yes I need to do more research on the schools. You seem to hold more confidence in me than I do.. thank you for the kind words and being supportive.

PS: I thought Columbia is very strong in Finance, but I haven't see an amphasize in healthcare/industry yet.. i'll do more digging. Do you think your school will like my background?

如果以healthcare为卖点，去Michigan, Yale, NYU要好好想想怎么sell自己以及和学校的fit。
如果约了AO谈，事先要把自己的背景、故事、规划梳理好，不然恐怕反而有反作用。
另外，平常心对待campus visit吧。

1. ALL schools clearly stated that they will not give any value/preference to campus visits. All the values for you would be to understand more about the school. Based on your schedule, you might not have time for this part.

2. Wharton has a good health care program, but the thing is that generally a stronger brand will open more doors for you.

嗯，谢谢amazinglyh提醒。 我对Yale的判断是他家这两年在 试图加强healthcare方面的权重和竞争力,还有个MBA/MPH program我想申。  Michigan还是有一些渊源，我前公司用的市场策略理论体系是两个Michigan prof 创立的，他家healthcare 也很强呢。。。 NYU... 确实没什么太大的fit。 但是我有个想法，作为典型的healthcare industry pool 里的 candidate，如果只选healthcare 传统强校会不会类似的candidate 太聚集了，第一轮去掉好多名额，同类相比我的uniqueness 会否削弱。在想申两所其他的，从enterprenure in healthcare角度阐释会不会好点？
