3: Including VolunteerExperience and Extracurricular Activities

Including volunteer experience and extracurricular activities is a great way to add value to your resume.  

For those who are unemployed or have less work experience than the average applicant, including these experiences can demonstrate your work ethicand desire to keep busy. And for everyone, it shows the committee that you area well rounded and active individual.  

Identify the organizations, your roleand the dates. Highlight any leadership roles, major accomplishments, andrelevant skills used for these activities.

对于工作经验有限的申请者，可以在简历中适当的加入志愿者和课外活动的经验。这样可以体现你是个很活跃的人。

4: Formatting and PROOFREAD!

Your resume needs to be concise, easyto read (font type and size) and easy to follow (key information needs to beeasy to find).  

Resumes typically should not exceedone page, unless you have more than ten years of experience.

Unless otherwise noted perapplication instructions, keep your resume professional (i.e. approach it as ifyou were using it to apply for a job).  

PROOFREAD! Be sure to carefully proof your resume and have at least oneother person review it as well (this goes for all aspects of your application).Ensure your resume doesn’t contain any typos or grammatical errors and that itis clear to understand from an outside perspective.

Also, if you have unique hobbies orinterests, you can list these as well since it can be a way to differentiateyourself.

简历一定要反复检查有没有语法错误，拼写错误等等。格式简洁整齐，不要超过一页。

5: Be Honest

Honesty is the best and onlypolicy.  

Your resume needs to factually represent your work and academic history.Be sure to include relevant information but avoid overstating accomplishmentsor responsibilities.

Never lie about your past and currentexperiences to improve your chances for admission. Always make certain that allof the information you include is truthful and accurate.

不要过分的夸大自己工作上的成就，实事求是的写完成了什么，取得了什么工作上的进展。
