OBSTACLE
3'35   MI  : soot prematurely stopped the little ice age
- glaciers in the Alps began their retreat before climate warming --
however average temperature did not rise significantly -- something must be omitted-- soot

Speed:
1’58 Scientists treatcomputer to distinguish negative, positive, and neutral emotion from tweets taggedwith location. Then they use this information to make the mood landscape ofNYC.
2’01Scientists conducted a survey to figure out what dept the cetaceans prefer, while found out different kinds prefer different dept. It’s difficult Navy tofind areas that don’t overlap with cetaceans.
1’06The stem cells can assemble into “mini-brain”.
1’53 Although this system has limitations, scientists used it to model M, and then confirm prevailing theories about M. Inthe future, human-stem-cell-derived tissues could be used to model otherdisorders, if cell growth can be controlled.
2’34 Some scientists found that age andexperience mattered more than genetics for efficient migration. However, anotherbiologist doubted that conclusion.
Obstacle:
4’31
A study shows that the emission of soot isthe reason of Alps began their retreat long before the climate warming.
Alps glaciers reached their maximum in themiddle of 1900s.
The Little Ice Age ended after 1850.
However, the glaciers should have continuedto grow for more than 1/2 century. à Retreatriddle
Because darker surface absorb more heat, sothe emission of soot lead to the retreat of glacier, according to the layers ofglacier ice.

Time 2 1’30
The article mainly talked about a technology that can be used to found the emotion of the cities or states. By collecting data from users’ tweet, the researchers analyze the users’ current emotion and combine the emotions with their geographical location. People will find which area is happier or sadder.

Time 3 1’50
A group of scientists has recently done researches on living habit of dolphins and whales, such as their population numbers and what depths they prefer. This research will help mitigate the negative influence of human activities, such as protecting aquaculture industry and being beneficial for military use.

Time 4 1’09
Some scientists use stem cells to develop an organ that is similar to brain. This development helps scientist know more about neurologic disease. The last paragraph explains how the process works.

Time 5 1’42
The first two paragraphs explain the imperfect of the research: no interaction and lacked blood vessel. The last three paragraphs seem talked about limitations of the experiments.

Time 6 2’22
When whooping cranes migrate, the elder cranes lead the group better than the younger one. From this experience, scientists conclude that it might be the social behavior of the cranes and the younger cranes would learn from the elders gradually when they become elder.

Obstacle:4’24
Thefirst several paragraphs mention that the Little Ice Age end earlier thanpeople expect. The main reason is that soot from industrial revolution. Two scientistsfound some soot in the deep layer of Alp, indicating that the soot had been agreat influence long ago and contributed to the ice melting. Then, the articleexplains the reason that soot result in ice melting. At last of the article, itsaid that from recent decades, climate change starts to become the main reasonof ice melting.

TIME2  1'51
- emotion map around Mahattan by collecting tweets on twitter and some findings.
[Personally, it's not that scientific for the reason that people are inclined to repost bad emotions on SNS. But really, it's a creative way]
TIME3  2'06
- researches reveal 18 spieces of O prefer to live in deep sea, which contradicts common sense held by scientists before.
TIME4   1'15
- some hallmarks of mini-brains. (brain tissue-like; phenomenal)
- scientists utilize these mini-brains to form structures of tissues in human brains for further study(how they conduct this)
TIME5  2’25
- some limitations and impefect copy of brain tissue by mini-brains.
- finding on the differences of premature stage of healthy brains and diordered brains.
- prediction of the future development of mini-brains towards researches of disorders in human brains.

TIME6  2‘14
- experiments conducted reveal age and experience matter more in flight of cranes than genetics.
- whether it can reflect in social learning? remain unknown but would be an indicator of transmitting of genetics.
- some suspect of the machanism of learning from the elder.

2'13 older and more experienced whooping cranes know more direct way of migration. Young whooping cranes learn the migration path from the older and more experienced birds, transmit the migration path is their culture.

5'21 the snoot actually accelerate the melting of glacier.
-> According the temperature records in the last hundreds years, (500 years& half century. ), the new study find the something affect glacier retest is missed in the temperature records
-> the soot, which is dark , has a strong impact on glacier retreat in fact.
-> still some scientists doubt the conclusion
