The passage showed three arguments to contradict that he Greeks took advantage of burning mirror to defend the Roman navy by causing their ships to catch fire. However, the lecturer totally disagreed with its arguments and listed the reasons as below.
Firstly, the lecturer argued that it was unnecessary to make a whole piece of mirror with several meters wide. The Greeks could make dozens of piece of mirrors. And she also listed an experiment that those mirrors could be adjusted to a parabolic curvature easily and made the burning happen.
Moreover, the professor pointed that the burning lead-time, 10 minutes, was only on the experiment of wood. But the ships of Roman navy were made by wood, steel and pitch, which is a material that easily get burned only in several seconds. When pitch got fire, wood of the ships would quickly be on fire as well. So it's practical and effective to use burning mirror as a weapon.
Finally, the flaming arrows had been well known by the Roman navy, while the burning mirror was never heard. Meanwhile, although the mirrors were easily been investigated, the rays of the mirrors were hardly been seen. Thus it was a surprise for the Roman navy who found their ships get burned suddenly. Besides with the same distance of burning, the burning mirror was more effective than the flaming arrows.
As a whole, the lecturer pointed out he argument error in the passage by the form of mirror Greeks used, the material of ships, and the advantages of burning mirror to verify that it was wrong that the Greeks couldn't use burning mirror to defeat the Roman navy.

Have you noticed that in our society, young people have been paid close attention to? Someone may think that the society set too strict rules for young people, such as living pressure, value model and limited rights to speak out. But as a young person in China, I disagree with setting too strict rules for young people. Reversely, our society has been given us much freedom, care and helps.

About dozens of years before, after graduation, you have to look for a job in a company, institution or a factory to make a living in China. Your career life has been put in a locked box. While nowadays, more and more different jobs have been accepted by the society such as entrepreneurs, e-shopper on the website and novel writer on the internet. And the country also encourages young people to innovate and to start their own companies. It’s well known that some innovation funds or loans are provided to college graduates in Shanghai.

Another important point is to give the voice to young people. During recent years, website forums and weibo have emerged and popularized in whole China. And people are encouraged to present different thinking and points of views on the website. Young people will not worry that they’ll get hurt because of different voices on the website. For example, a proposal concerning protection of historical architectures posted on Weibo had won over 10000 forwarders only in one week. ] And the related institution stopped to demolish those architectures and even adopted the protection plans. You can see that more and more freedom are given to young people and the voices are really heard by the society.

Finally, with the greater pressure of living and job hunting, the society also really helps young people. For example, in some cities, the governments provide rent-free apartments for fresh graduates. Besides, some NGOs provide free job trainings for young people. All these helps decrease the pressure of living for young people.

You see, how happy and lucky we young people are in current society. Since we are offered with a wider range of career choices, rights to show our own statements and a supportive employment policy, the society definitely has given young people less strict rules.

As a typical youngest in current society, I choose the major by myself. After graduation from college, I moved to an apartment and lived alone, although my parents lived in the same city. I choose. Also, I have my own plan for my career path. You can see that all the important decision in my life is not depended on my parents, but all by myself. Of course, I’m the only one case in today’s young people. So I totally agree that current young adults are more willing to make decisions in their own lives than before.

Now, the education system in our country has been improved for many years, from duck-sucked education to independent learning. This transformation has cultivated the independence thinking of young generation. For example, when I in college, I had to look for scientific journalists and materials and also visit specialties in specific area to find the clue for my project in marketing. Meanwhile, I learnt to form my own logic thinking to solve a problem and present to the class. That’s why after graduation, I could take advantage of this thinking to my choices in life.

Moreover, we have entered a stage which are full of new information, new trends and changed at such a high speed. It’s hard for our parents to follow and look to the future, since it was totally different with their times. So as young adults, we are pushed to grown up and have own mindset. For example, when I talk with Weibo or Weixin, which are a new communication community with my parents, they even didn’t know what they are, let alone the commercial opportunities of them.

Finally, the information resources we need have been diversified. As a young person, you can consult your friends and your colleges. Besides, you could easily surf on the website, e-libraries to search documents globally. While it emerges more and more communities of peers on the website, it’s more convenient for you to directly turn to the specialties in the communities when encountering important choices.

Admittedly, parents have their precious experiments to share. But with the deeply independent education, society change and widely resources people find, current young people are more independently to make decision for their own lives.

The article holds the argument that the best way to approach certain new projects is group working. However, the lecture contradicts this argument with two main points.
Firstly, group working will slow down the process of decision making and be less creative and less efficiency. It needs more meetings to align the agreements of all the team members, while the assumption in the article that more people will response more quickly to the task because of more resources and skills they have. Meanwhile, the group influencers will cover different ideas and ignore different views from minor members. It's not always creative and success to complete the jobs. Anyway, the blames will come to all the members, as the article mentioned.
Another point is that team members don’t feel rewarding in groups, a reversal conclusion to the passage. While the real contributors are not given deserved applause and have no name on the awards of groups, those people who don't give their hands on the project are not blamed. It's unfair.
In conclusion, the professor pointed out that more time-consuming alignment meetings, unequal right for different voices and unfair reward and punish mechanism improves group working is not the best way.

The passage holds the arguments that dinosaurs are endotherms by listing causes in fossils discovered in polar area, legs underneath the body and Haversian canals, one of similar bone structures like endotherms. However the lecturer disagrees with the argument and contradicts three causes as below.
To begin with, the professor refuted the assumption of the passage with the point that polar area in dinosaur age can't be cold as it is today. It was warm. The animals living in warm environment may not be endotherms. Even it became colder, the dinosaurs would migrate. As a result, the fossils in polar area, as the passage mentioned, wouldn't be the proof that dinosaurs are endotherms.
Secondly, having legs underneath the body doesn't mean that dinosaurs had sustained physical activity, such as running. The professor gives another reason that the legs underneath can support more weight. And dinosaurs were the largest animals in the world. It makes sense.
Finally, besides the Haversian canals, dinosaurs have growth rings on the fossils of their bones. The growth rings show that there were stop and slow growth during cold period, while endotherm will keep same growth rate under different periods. Of course, the point of Haversian canals doesn't make sense.
As a whole, the professor agrees that dinosaurs are not endotherms on the basis of warm polar climate, legs which support huge weight and growth rings which show stop and slow growth.
