大致意思：然而，在part1中的essays也展现了一个很细微、很容易忽略的历史情境。它们展现了法律对女性组织和权力的促进，而这些促进是基于世界各地都一样的给女性带来限制的性别观念。
因为前面部分的内容在说part1描述了law对女性的遏制，而一个yet说明了转折，我认为关键词是facilitation，首先看到yet猜测作者是在讲law的促进作用，看到facilitation之后确认猜想正确。这是我当时读这段话的一个思路，我感觉自己读阅读很多时候都是“猜想+验证”的过程，如果验证对了读起来就很流畅，如果验证不对，甚至连猜想都猜不出来，那就读得很慢并且很煎熬了...

#2 that定语从句修饰intricacies；
#3 race and class从句SUB；
#4 tempers、shapes、hinders分别为从句的三个动词；
#5 in order to appreciate...我认为是修饰alliances，第一遍读下来感觉是修饰hinders，但逻辑不对，所以修饰alliance更正确~

文章以奥巴马为何能成为首位美国黑人总统为契机，先说他不表现一般bad black man的一面，比较女性化，又说除此之外黑人这个种族因素又带给他足够男性化的形象，进而依托三位知名美国女性——希拉里 克林顿、莎拉 佩林、米歇尔 奥巴马——的故事，讲述了当今美国社会对妇女其实还是有偏见的。
啊啊啊虽然回忆的不全，但终于看懂了~！！我觉得越障反而让人能更集中注意力！

1. President Obama's characteristics - the bending between feminist and masculine. He won the election over his competitor Hillary Clinton, who is said to behave in a very masculine way.
2. Dilemma for women leaders: two-fold standards - too feminine, incompetence; too masculine, unlikable.
2. Summary of the author's essay: Part I discuss the common theories and their applications. Part II analysis three women Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Obama by the common feminist theories.
3. Conclusion is: Hillary Clinton is masculine but still likable. Sarah Palin is mostly criticized for her lack of experience and readiness to become a president. She played her mother and wife's role a lot. For Michelle Obama, although she does not run election, but as a wining candidate's wife, blah blah 不记得说她啥了.
结论好像就是说对女性领袖来说，还是要被双重标准来判断。
