美本+美硕士 ACCT PHD 求定位~~~

最近一直在CD里潜水，今天复习GMAT抓狂实在忍不住了，发个帖求定位
先自我介绍一下背景吧

1。本科在美国一个私立教会学校上的会计专业，GPA 3.5, Major GPA 3.8，Dean's List。期间与accounting department chair关系很好，推荐信没问题，但这个教授也不是牛人
2。硕士依然会计用GMAT680申请到Ohio State University, 一年毕业， GPA 3。7。硕士一年时间太短，再加上下半年闭门准备CPA没有给大牛professor留下什么印象，所以剩下两篇推荐信是很大的问题
3。美国CPA全过
4。目前人在中国一家外企做内审

硕士毕业我以为我这辈子再也不用读书了，不料世事无常，离开美国前认识了现在的男朋友，他在美国工作，所以现在打算申请PHD。最近在复习GMAT，可是在职复习真的好痛苦啊啊啊，真心觉得可能连680都考不出来了

所以真心希望有人能给个定位，gmat不重新考有没有希望啊，本人对学校没有任何要求。谢谢了！！

美国本硕是优势啦，回来之前应该和OSU的教授聊聊，问问能不能要推荐信的。GMAT700以上最好吧，因为背景没有其他亮点。
BTW, pursuing PhD means a life-long commitment in academic accounting. Do consider if your BF is worth that.

That you undertook both undergraduate and master's studies in the US (sounds you are from a family of ample means) may help you stand out, depending on the reputation of the institutions attended. OSU is a good one, but what you had there was just a one year professional master's.

Your lack of research experience may be a disadvantage in the admissions. Work experience may be helpful but is not necessary. As a professional certificate, CPA does not necessarily add to your strength.

Thus, you should focus on those programs that are ranked in the 50-100 range.

By the way, is the fact that your man is in the US the sole factor motivating you to study for a PhD? A PhD involves a life long commitment to research although some opt for industry.

唉，我也是觉得背景没有亮点。之前其实很抗拒读博的，所以这方面的准备一点没做。但是工作了觉得好不自由，觉得当老师也挺好的。听天由命吧。。。

A life long commitment in academic其实ok啦，当老师也挺好的。我是渐渐发现我的性格不适合在业界混，特别是中国的业界。所以想多一种选择。听天由命吧

我跟你的情况简直是一模一样 硕士毕业了不得已现在要留在这里 又找不到好的工作，唯一方法就是继续F1 我本来打算读完就回去的

同是天涯沦落人，握手！如果有opt的话可以继续找找，我主要是因为已经回国了，完全木有办法了

本人根搂主情况接近。国内一本工科毕业，出国转accounting， 迫于没有商科背景又念了个accounting 本科 GPA3.8。 后继续留在U of Kansas 读MAcc，GMAT 720， GPA3.4。 没找工作所以无任何CPA经验。 现在申PhD 中。以我经验来看 GMAT 必须700+ 否则基本没戏，所以楼主还要加油， 有cpa虽然对于PhD来说没太大作用，相关research 经验更重要些（PhD毕竟是搞学术的）但是CPA也算一个很好的reference。所以只要楼主700+ 拿offer应该不成问题
