That you undertook both undergraduate and master's studies in the US (sounds you are from a family of ample means) may help you stand out, depending on the reputation of the institutions attended. OSU is a good one, but what you had there was just a one year professional master's.
Your lack of research experience may be a disadvantage in the admissions. Work experience may be helpful but is not necessary. As a professional certificate, CPA does not necessarily add to your strength.
Thus, you should focus on those programs that are ranked in the 50-100 range.
By the way, is the fact that your man is in the US the sole factor motivating you to study for a PhD? A PhD involves a life long commitment to research although some opt for industry. |
