tax: tax return, tax provision (audit of tax), tax planning, etc. As Chinese, you may pigeon-hole yourself working with only US tax. Think twice before you go down this path.
audit: verify numbers on the financial statements are materially correct through sampling, testing of invoices, recalculation, reperformance. Recruiters will tell you otherwise but you do not need analytical skills.
TS (usually considered part of advisory because TS do not attest. TS just advise.): valuation of tangible/intangible assets, financial/tax/human resources/IT due diligence on merger acquisition transaction, divestiture. If you look up these terms on the Internet you will find answers.
You only need elementary school math for audit work (+-*/%). You may need middle/high school math for transaction services/tax. i could be generalizing but that's my understanding.
Stuff you learned from school are usually not that relevant. So it's ok you don't know what professionals do because you learn on the job. |
