studies found that some awards may not motivate employee work harder but have the opposite effect.
the attendance awards experiment showed no beneficial but more punctual
making an explanation about the opposite result.
1> employee ended up "gaming" the program
2> the most productive workers may believe that the award program was unfair ,and thus the award demotivated these employee.
whether have good effect of awards depend on how to award---rewarding for exceptional performance rather than for fulfilling a basic job expectation.
