HELP!!HELP!! I can't type in Chinese T T
Q1:
The army, whose estimates could not be confirmed, said that the security forces opened fire on a demonstration in Aleppo, and it marked a second day of violence in a city that had been relatively calm.
I know the answer 'marking' make sense. But I wonder:
Why not 'The army, whose estimates could not be confirmed, said that the security forces opened fire on a demonstration in Aleppo, which marked a second day of violence in a city that had been relatively calm'?
I remember that 'which' clause with comma can be used to describe the whole sentence before comma i.e. the action that security forces opened fire ... Am I right???
