NN们，B选项中的meaning错误我知道，但是over 2500 miles in length是不是也有错？为什么之前讨论帖和08语法笔记里都没有说到，这里over 2500 miles in length做的是什么成分呢？谢谢NN！

做的当然是modifier喽，修饰highway，我觉得没错哇，不过从concise的角度来说没有over 2500 miles long简洁。还有modifier用逗号隔开，是非核心modifier,曼哈顿有提过。。

没错啊，插入的成分来修饰highway。这个题目看不出应该over 2,500 miles long 放在主句里面还是extended from northern Ecuadorthrough Peru to southern Chile.放在主句里面，还是并列在主句里面。所以可以随意。

可是为什么我记得没有这种修饰成分，就单独一个借此短语，至少也应该用非限定性定语从句，变成which was over 2500 miles...才对呀！求NN解答

有的，举个例子，一个名词的同位语是被一个长的定语从句修饰时，就会前后用逗号隔开。去感受下曼哈顿modifier那章，经典啊！
