My question concerns  the interview.

As mentioned in the school's Application Brochure:

We strongly encourage you to schedule an interview before the deadline for which you plan to submit your application. If you do not interview prior to submitting your application, you may be asked to schedule an interview if additional information is required to evaluate your candidacy.

Q1: Would it be better to ask for an interview before submitting application and have the interviewer evalutate the applicant?

Q2: If the answer to Q1 is yes, then should I contact an alumni whose contact information is provided on the website to ask for an interview?
