第52 What change would make your hometown more appealing to people your age?Use specific

reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Speaking of the changes that have taken place in my hometown, thedevelopment of tourism comes to my mind first. I live in a beautiful town wherethere is a mountain, making it possible for us to get closer to our mothernature. Thus, after my hometown was turned into a tourist spot, we benefitgreatly from the economic and environmental changes it brings to us.

  With the advent of the tourism-based developingtragedy, our hometown has utilized all kinds of its natural resources. In theold days, the mountain used to be a desert place where no one was willing togo. However, after developing our tourism for economic purpose, we lay more emphaseson the development of natural resources. More interesting tourist attractionsare open up while more public facilities are introduced to make our hometown acomfortable place to visit. We now can enjoy climbing the mountain or just totake a one-hour walk after dinner for relaxation. What’s more, the ponds andlakes there are becoming multifunctional—new swimming pools are build nearby.Summer is getting easier for us since we can bathe ourselves in the cool waternear the lakes. In addition, we also hold an exhibition of trees in strangeforms. Imagine you are dog tired after a four-hour trip climbing to the top ofthe mountain. Visiting the exhibition will definitely be an excellent choicefor you.

  Wealso benefit a lot from this new change: more preservation and protection arebrought to our local environment. Trees over one hundred years are carefullypreserved by isolation lines and warming signs whereas endangered animals are underobservation. Tourists, as well as we local people, may see various types of oldtrees. For us, living harmoniously with animals can be of great fun since itmakes us part of the nature. I really enjoy this wonderful feeling.

Last but not least, a shopping mall comes to our lives as thedevelopment of tourism takes place. For young people like us, nothing can bemore exciting than hang out with our friends to the shopping mall. For the old,shopping mall is a place frequently visited for it offers them a great manyoptions to buy. As local citizens, we can also enjoy our leisure momentwatching a film in the theatre or talking with our friends in a well-decorated cafeteria.

Generally speaking, the exploration of our natural resources, protectionfor endangered animals and trees, along with the introduction of our convenientshopping mall make our hometown a better place to live in.
