I agree that great people are only able tobe determined by people living later days due to the unique ideas of thesegreat individuals. Sometimes individuals got some opinions so special thatpeople rounding them cannot understand them because they were confined by sometenets or traditional ideas which has been broken by those individuals. Forexample, Van Gogh, one of the greatestartists in the world, however were not acknowledged of his capability ofpainting before his deadness. The meanings of his paintings were so strangewhich were even contradictory to conventional aesthetic knowledge that thesepaintings are given up by people. Nevertheless, as the society develops, the society are more and more open to variousopinions, people found and determined the value of aesthetic in his works ofart. So individuals' talents are onlydecided through people with different perspectives living after them. Yet a problem with the statement is thatthe author ignores that the modern society is developing so fast that the speed of the transmission of newsand information become so fast thatalmost everyone will instantly know about events taken place several days ago,which contribute to the comprehension of the greatness of people. For example,Steve Jobs combined aesthetic ideas and information technology into hisproducts, which is quite different from IT products before and got rid of thelimitations of former ideas. So lots of doubt cast on his ideas. Fortunately,due to the speed of information, people all over the world focus theirattention on them and more and more people think it a breakthrough andinnovation in IT products and realized the excellence of Steve Jobs. Inaddition, the work of many great people are designed to satisfy the demand ofcontemporaries, so contemporaries can immediately know about the benefits ofthem and determine the greatness of individuals. 有时间可补充 Insum, I agree that the greatness of individuals with unique ideas canonly be determined by people living after them.
