MSc Econ&Mgt LSE:
Pros:
Big name and strong faculty in Economics department
Possibility of transferring to MSc of Finance and Economics research track and getting admitted into LSE PHD programme directly if obtaining distinction
Cons:
10-month duration is very short if I want to establish my quantitative background and increase my research experience
Courses not suitable as preparation for Finance/Economics PHD
MA Econ UZH:
Pros:
Prestigious in Micro/Experimental Economics which I am very interested in
2-year programme with standard economic trainings and higher probability of standing out and getting RA/TAship and strong references
Cons:
Faculty is not as well-rounded as that of LSE especially in the realm of Finance
Less well-known especially by US Finance professors
Seriously, rankings are important, but probably not that important. LSE and U Zurich are actually in different contexts, at least geographically.
In the end, it is your choice. Maybe ranking and "prestige" are more important to you and your circumstances. Then take LSE. Good research can be done anywhere.
