Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
It's easier to maintain health than in the past.

Nowadays some people claim that humans in present society have more health problems because of the explosion of population and deterioration of environment. For my part, however, with the development of civilization, people are enjoying a life of higher quality and advanced medical technology, which assist them to maintain good health more easily. Thus I quite agree with this statement. Several points in different dimensions will be offered to support this argument.

To begin with, medical treatment, which plays an essential role in residents’ physical situation, has been dramatically improved. An increasingly number of hospitals have introduced the latest high-tech medical equipments in the hope of curing patients more effectively and reducing pain. Moreover, scientists have devoted themselves to discover new vaccines and medicines to control and treat some diseases. In the old days, however, lacking appropriate therapy, many people died from various kinds of illnesses such as hepatitis and chicken pox, which can be totally cured by today’s medical technology.

In addition, nowadays information can spread faster and more widely due to the development of public media, thus citizens have more accesses to receive medical knowledge. When it comes to methods to solve daily common diseases, people can describe their symptom and situations online or on telephone to consult professional doctors. My grandpa often listen to some radio program about medical knowledge and telephone doctors to help him figure out some light health problems. With the highly developed information platform, people can manage their body well.

Furthermore, life quality has been improved a lot nowadays, bringing people food of more nutrition and larger diversity than food in the past. Indisputably, a good diet facilitates a good health. In old days, many people even could not fulfill their stomachs, let alone considering nutritional diet. In modern society, however, inhabitants tend to purchase organic food and unpolluted vegetables, focusing on how to eat nutritiously and healthily. Every kind of food possesses its own nutrition and function. For instance, fish can prevent cardiovascular diseases and spinach can help reduce the possibility of diabetes. Therefore, people today are more knowledgeable on food nutrition, thus can maintain health easily.

To sum up, basing on the evidences supporting the argument I make, it is easier for people nowadays to maintain good health than in the past under the benefits induced by the development of medical treatment, the convenient medical information and healthy diets.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
It's easier to maintain health than in  ...

Nowadays some people claim that humans in present society have more health problems because of the explosion of population and deterioration of environment. For my part, however, with the development of civilization, people are enjoying a life of higher quality and advanced medical technology, which assist(其主语为a life,注意单复数) them to maintain good health more easily. Thus I quite agree with this statement(本人觉得在这个statement后再加一个of...,来明确一下指代内容会更好). Several points in different dimensions will be offered to support this argument.

To begin with, medical treatment, which plays an essential role in residents’ physical situation(这里我查了下Google, physical condition更加的合适), has been dramatically improved. An increasingly (修饰名词,用形容词increasing就可以了)number of hospitals have introduced the latest high-tech medical equipments (equipment是不可数名词)in the hope of curing patients more effectively and reducing pain. Moreover, scientists have devoted themselves to discover new vaccines and medicines to control and treat some diseases. In the old days, however, (due to/ owing to)lacking appropriate therapy, many people died from various kinds of illnesses such as hepatitis and chicken pox, which can be totally cured by today’s medical technology.

In addition, nowadays information can spread faster and more widely due to the development of public media, thus citizens have more accesses to receive medical knowledge. When it comes to methods to solve daily common diseases, people can describe their symptom (可数,所以应为symptoms)and situations(最好为condition) online or on telephone to consult professional doctors. My grandpa often listen (listens)to some radio programs about medical knowledge and telephones doctors to help him figure out some light health problems. With the highly developed information platform, people can manage their body well.

Furthermore, life quality has been improved a lot nowadays, bringing people food of more nutrition and larger diversity than food in the past. Indisputably, a good diet facilitates a good health. In old days, many people even could not fulfill  (感觉这里用fill会比较准确)their stomachs, let alone considering nutritional diet.

Recently some educationists assert that students, influenced by modern ideology, are more aggressive and independent than before, resulting in the fact that they do not respect their teachers as much as in the past. Is this really the case? I do not quite think so. For my part, people nowadays do not decrease their respect to teachers. Several reasons will be offered to testify my hypothesis.

To begin with, since in childhood, we are told to be polite to older people especially our teachers by family and society. Before attending school, parents instruct us to behave appropriately and respect teachers. In the school, we learn from the ethic class that as students, we should greet teachers when meeting them, ask teachers for suggestions when encountering difficulties and thank teachers after they assist us. As a survey conducted by an education institution indicated, primary schools nowadays are concerning more about instruction of polite behaviors. With training of etiquette, people may show more respect to teachers instead of less.

In addition, there is no denying that nowadays both students and parents care about academic achievements of students. In order to make a great success in school work, students are prone to get on well with teachers. They long for teachers' attentions and they often discuss academic problems with teachers. In festivals and holidays, they send greeting cards and even presents to teachers. Teachers tend to like this kind of students and always speak highly of them. My older sister usually consults her teachers and talked with her teachers in college. It is her characters of modesty and respect that impressed her teacher, who recommend my older sister to a good graduated school. Therefore, for the sake of a better future in school life, students would not depress their respect to teachers.

Some opponents may refute my argument by claiming that nowadays students have more access to knowledge so that they sometimes do not need teachers’ help. Thus people do not respect their teachers as much as before. Admittedly, teachers may have something unknown and an increasing number of students like challenging their teachers’ perspectives. In my opinion, this behavior does not mean they do not respect teachers. Instead, it indicates that, to some extent, students are more studious and creative that they enjoy a heated debate with teachers on academic questions. What students focus on is knowledge not who teaches the knowledge.

All in all, considering all factors supporting my hypothesis, it is indisputable that people nowadays do not show less respect to their teachers than before. Quite on the contrary, they care more about teachers and their images in teachers' minds.

It is impossible always to be honest to your friends.

When it comes to friendship, people always insist on that friends must be honest to each other no matter what kind of situations. Is this really the case? My answer is definitely no. In the long development of a piece of friendship, people may experience a lot of things and matters. In some certain environment, we have to cover the truth in mind and lie to friends not only for ourselves but for friend's interests.
To begin with, true words are sometimes good words. At times we had better lie to our friends in the hope of comforting and encouraging them. Take one of my friends, Ann, for instance, Ann is a shy and timid girl, lacking confidence and always giving up something. Once she participated in a singer competition under our encouragement. To be honest, Ann's voice is not very excellent. But in order to improve her confidence and change her prejudice on herself, I told her that she sang very well and her voice is very sweet. Even though Ann finally failed in the singer competition, yet she did not feel frustrated due to admiration from friends. There is no denying that some beautiful lies can produce positive effects in friendship.
In addition, there may be some special situation in which we had better not to tell friends the truth in order to not to hurt them. Imagine such a case, one of your friends, Tom, is going to give his first solo show in evening while at the same day your common friend, Jack encountered a car accident. Under this situation, you cannot tell Tom about Jack's disaster and you have to miss Tom's performance to see Jack in hospital. As a consequence, you have no choice but to lie to Tom that you have other important things to deal with. Maybe such case are not very common in daily life, but it indeed improves that it is impossible always being honest to your friends.
Furthermore, sometimes when we and our friends are in a competitive circumstance, we may not be honest to them. Suppose two friends are both software developers employed by different computer companies. For the sake of fair competition, neither of the friends could tell the true thoughts of designing products to each other.
All in all, considering all above special situations, we have to admit that always being honest to our friends is almost impossible. Nevertheless, it does not mean the power of friendship can be damaged. Actually, some lies of which ends are beneficial to both of the two friends are acceptable and can be comprehended.

It is more important for schools to fund their students' social activities than to improve students' meals.

The issue of how a school can develop well is heatedly discussed by educators and school officers. Some contends to fund students' social activity while others asserts that money should be invested to students' meals. I, a school student, considering the issue from the perspective of school, believe that it is more essential to enrich social activities than to enhance quality of meals.

To begin with, social activities can improve the capacity of students, which is beneficial to students' future career and enhance the employment rate of the university. Schools ought to invest large money in social activities such as innovation program and internships. In social activities, students can put what they have learned in class into practice and consolidate their professional knowledge. After they graduate, they are more likely to get offers from big companies. Take one of my schoolmates for an instance, during her collage life, she participated in a large number of social activities, which can be presented on her resume. With an excellent resume and all-round capacity, she was employed by P&G, one of the top500 corporations in the world.

In addition, with abundant and high-quality social activities, the school can attract more excellent students. When parents and students pick up which school to go to, the specie of extracurricular activity will be taken into consideration for it is a mean to reflect the qualities of students. If a school only focuses on academics and life standards of students, it will make many students lose interests on it. A research conducted by a educational institution has shown that universities which are of more popularity project more extracurricular activities than other schools.

Admittedly, students' meals should be improved, since students will be pleased with the rear service provided by school. Nevertheless, taking the development of a school into consideration, we must give priority to funding social activities. The quality of meals in school is just a problem of basic infrastructure, thus whether it is improved or not does not make any difference to the development of a school.

All in all, considering all the factors contributing to the development of school, the school officers should invest more money to social activities, which will bring more advantages to school.
