A选项中guardian就是原文champion的改写，看选项感觉像正确答案。

但是Line30中说 the widow "taking their goals as her own"，如果非要向A靠拢，是不是A中as her sons’ sole guardian to further interests different from those of her sons 是说她把维护儿子的利益作为自己的利益，但是这种利益的出发角度是不同的？

不过我做题的时候选了E。。。
