I wouldn’t say that US b-schools are only for career switcher. I would say the US b-school is better for career switchers. US b-schools are typically 2-years, including a summer internship. The internship is key if you want to switch careers. It gives the other industry a trial run of the potential hire. European programs are typically 12-18 months. You can get an internship, but it is not the expectation. The internship itself is typically shorter in duration, and isn’t as involved/structured. If you are planning to stay in the same field, you have to ask yourself, does an MBA make sense for you? For example, some industry does not require MBA for career advancement. |
