B-school takes in students from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. Most schools do a good job in setting the table for basic skills prior to school start (i.e. language institutes, math review, accounting review).
In my experience, I feel the only necessary reviews are: 1) If you are not solid on Calculus, it may be beneficial to review basic differentiation and integration. That’s about as much as you need on Math. 2) For international students, if you don’t have good grasp of English, speaking and listening, it would behoove you to practice. B-school courses are very dialogue heavily, if you can’t keep up with the discussions in class, you will have lost much of the learning experience. 3) For international students, brush up on speed reading on business English. You will have TONS of case reading. Being able to get through them quickly is key to managing your time effectively.
For the English skills, you can practice by watching US TV, and try to read/write/speak English on during your daily activities. |
