thanks a lot! But do I need to read some crucial books about finance to make my PS more persuasive ? -- by 会员 ououkarry (2013/1/30 16:24:44)
Hi my friend, thanks for your follow up question. Are you askingabout books on general finance topics or textbooks? There is no need to readtextbooks at this point because that’s what you’ll be doing during your studyin those programs. Of course it would be helpful if you have already read somebooks on current finance, since it keeps you sharp on the topic. The key towriting great essays is not in how many books you’ve read, it’s more about how youpresent your own experiences and background. It’s better to show the admissionscommittee that you’ve had great experiences, and also that you can clearlyarticulate your vision for the future as well as your career plans. The Adcomwants to get a sense of you as a person, and it helps to elaborate on your internships, academic work, and other activities, rather than just rattling off some impersonalfacts from a finance book. This is especially important since you want change your major fromengineering to finance. You need to clearly explain your motivations and careerplan, and what advantages/qualities you have that will help you succeed in thefuture. This should be the focus of your essays. Hope this helps!
