Dressed as a man and using the name Robert Shurtleff, Deborah Sampson, the first

woman to draw a soldier’s pension, joined the Continental Army in 1782 at the age of 22, was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she had become too ill to serve.

是说ill 是在 discharged 之前,because she had become....

OG里所有对过去完成时的解释都是describes action that is completed prior to some other event described with the simple past tense也就是说在前一个过去的事情发生时就已经完成了.

这题说一点我的看法:很多人质疑为什么在本题中,A选项中明明并列的两个动词injured 和discharged之间用了and还要用“,”;也有人问because she had become too ill to serve不可能发生在什么时候之前。

Dressed as a man and using the name Robert Shurtleff, Deborah Sampson, the first

woman to draw a soldier’s pension, joined the Continental Army in 1782 at the age of 22,

was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she had become too ill to serve.

A. 22, was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she had become
B. 22, was injured three times, while being discharged in 1783 because she had
become
C. 22, and was injured three times, and discharged in 1783, being
D. 22, injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she was
E. 22, having been injured three times and discharged in 1783, being

只能选A.

Deborah Sampson joined ..., was injured..., and was discharged... because she had become...

and 的用法也没问题啊: a,b, and c.

2.was discharged in 1783 because she was too ill to serve 而A的意思呢, 1783年以前她就had become ill(原来是没病的,暗示受伤才使的她身体变差了与was ill 有区别),直到1783年实在不能服役了才退的.

in‧jure / ˈɪndʒə $ -ər / [transitive]
1
to hurt yourself or someone else, for example in an accident or an attack
ᅳsee also woundAngus injured his leg playing rugby yesterday. be badly/seriously/critically injured Two people have been critically injured in a road accident.
2
injure somebody's pride/feelings etc
to say unfair or unpleasant things that hurt someone's pride, feelings etc
see usage note damage 2
