推荐人选择的是外部人员是否需要写optional essay 说明

请教一下过来人，如果我的推荐人选择的不是公司内部人员或者领导，我是否需要写一下 optional essay 来说明一下如果写的话 怎么写比较好
实际情况是 公司正在扩张 不想两头不着靠，怕找老板写了 公司这边以后就没机会了 如果MBA也去不了 就真郁闷了
请指点一二

你的这个顾虑是比较常见的，学校能够理解你。至于是否需要写optional essay, 每个学校都有不同规定，有的需要写optional essay, 有的需要在online 申请表里的固定栏目里填写，一般不会要求字数太多太详细。
至于如何写比较好，就看你自己的情况了，常见的有正在争取升职机会，正在负责大型项目担心line manager产生顾虑等等。

Good question, and yes you are right. If you can’t get a recommendation from your current boss, because it would endanger your job, it’s okay, but you DO need to write about that in the optional essay. But you should be replacing your supervisor with someone else who also supervises/supervised you (so an old boss – no friends or colleagues or teachers)
