Michigan Ross MBA Class of 2013 & 2014 分享及答疑

听说equity research行业在萎缩，薪酬低多少我不了解。不过我知道有国外同学找IB不顺利转投equity research的，竞争激烈程度和life style可能好些吧。Ross有Investment Management Club，大约每年有三四十人参加，每周都有education + practice session，讲的东西很实用，是个好club。

May I ask why few MBA graduates look for equity research position while most prefer IBD? Is equity research's salary far below IBD's?

很抱歉Ross今年还不能提供免担保贷款。我们这一届缺钱的基本是通过这些途径解决的：自家出钱解决部分学费，然后找美国co-signer、找亲友借钱、找国内银行做留学贷款(大部分要抵押房产)。

Ross 不提供贷款吗？

我们这一届没有专攻social方面的，不过我们有二年级学长是对education很感兴趣的


据我所知，Ross的很多club是跟education/social相关的，具体可以到https://ross.campusgroups.com/club_signup看它们的介绍：
China Blue Charity Fund：中国蓝基金，大约运行10年了，资助了湖南、贵州、云南的一批中小学，大部分大陆学生都参加了这个club。
Community Action：公益club。
Give-a-Day Fund：公益club。
Student Teachers at Ross：给本地高中生提供辅助教育。
Ross Small Business Consulting Club：给本地小公司提供咨询。
Community Consulting Club：大约六人一组为社区做一个为期三个多月的咨询项目，是跟Ann Arbor/Detroit的实际公司或机构合作解决实际问题，很锻炼。很多找consulting的同学都参加了。
Detroit Revitalization and Business Initiative：跟上者类似，专注Detroit区域。
Ross Habitat for Humanity Builders：跟上者类似，专注住房问题。
Education + Business：教育方面的商业机会。
Emerging Markets Club：专注发展中国家的机会。
Entrepreneur & Venture Club：创业club。
Nonprofit and Public Management Center：非盈利club。
Ross Net Impact：关于社区和可持续性方面的一个比较大的club。

总而言之，大家觉得Ross最吸引你的地方在哪里呢？

自己顶起来，之前看到news Net Impact去年ROSS拿了第二名，虽然不太清楚这个机构的具体情况，但是可见ross在social responsibility方面也是不错滴！能否有哪位校友能够解答一下俺的问题捏？多谢！

来顶一个，小的是明年要去读Ross MAcc的，万圣节的offer。看就业报告MBA很多选择啊，咨询投行什么的，MAcc看起来还是去四大的多。各位学长姐，想问问MBA的recuriter是不太对MAcc学生开放呢，还是说个人实力问题？谢谢啦！

据我理解，这个无担保贷款是给class of 2013的，因为里边写着"with an admit term no later than Winter 2012"，2012 "Winter Term"指的是2012的1~5月那个term。这个是校历：http://www2.bus.umich.edu/MyiMpact/academics/academic-calendar


至于class of 2015，虽然应该还是没有loan，不过可以给admissions写个邮件确认一下，顺便问问有什么alternative。

欢迎来Ross MAcc去四大的确实比较多，其它可选的公司也不少吧，挺多都会来on campus。同一个recruiter面对MBA, MAcc, BBA的职位会分开不同的session来on campus，因为职位是不重合的。主要是不同职位需要不同的工作年限。

感谢楼主，我刚拿到2013的入学offer。有几个问题要请教一下：
1.办签证的时候是否需要存款证明？
2.住宿的话是住在宿舍为主吗？大概多少的租金啊请问。
3.大概什么时候开学？之前有需要修的course吗？
4.学费大概什么时候需要打给学校？
